Due to a stalling front over the midsouth and estimates of 5” of rainfall over the next few days for the Memphis International
Raceway area, race promoters and officials have rescheduled this weekend’s Dixie House Café 50k for July 6-8.
Dale Simon of Dixie House Café along with Danny Sons, Paul Cartwright and Chris Barker have been in constant communications with weather officials to try to have the best understanding of the current weather conditions and what the weekend will bring.
Event Promoter Danny Sons said, “Based on all the information available to us, this weekend appears to be a very rainy one with high percentages of rainfall for all three days, with the possibility of 5” or more.” Sons went on to say, “With fuel prices and travel expenses the way they are, we wanted to try to make a decision as early as possible to save racers from being out unnecessary expenses and sit in the rain all weekend. Nobody wins in a situation like this. This is a very tough call to make but we feel like it is the best decision for the racers in order to save them travel expenses and a wasted weekend.”
An updated flyer with all event information will be available soon.
