Luke Bogacki Set To Begin Title Pursuit in Pomona
February 13, 2013 · 0 CommentsLuke Bogacki, who finished the 2012 NHRAseason ranked third nationally in both Super Comp and Super Gas, plans to beginhis 2013 season in mid-February at the O’Reilly NHRA Winternationals in Pomona,CA. There, Luke will debut a brand new 2013 American Race Cars dragster in Super Comp, and compete in Super Gas driving the same 1963 Corvette bodied, Charlie Stewart Race Cars built roadster that he campaigned last season. Bogacki’s career has been filled with success on just about every level; he earned his reputation as a winning driver on the big dollar bracket tour before going on to enjoy success within IHRA and more recently, NHRA class competition. The 31-year-old driver has seemingly had just one major accomplishment elude him: an NHRA Lucas Oil WorldChampionship.
“Yea, I think between NHRA and IHRA I’ve gotten to run every valence number (awarded annually to top-10 finishers) except 7 and of course 1,” he joked. “Is winning the Lucas Oil World Championship my goal? Absolutely ,just like it is for over a thousand other Super Comp and Super Gas racers. Honestly, I feel like you can drive yourself crazy with result-based goals, especially something like a championship, because so much of it is in the control of others. So, for what it’s worth, I tend to focus on the process. I’m always striving to make myself better as a driver, make my cars more competitive, and just improve my racing program as a whole. I’m a believer that if I do that, the results will take care of themselves.”
Bogacki’s 2013 campaign will take him to 9 NHRA Mello Yello series national events, and 8 NHRA Lucas Oil Series divisional events in addition to a handful of the biggest bracket races in the country. Bogacki will once again feature backing from the website that he developed: www.ThisIsBracketRacing.com. ThisIsBracketRacing.com is an instructional site established to provide information for members longing to improve the iron-track skills and strategy. In addition, Bogacki is pleased to bring back aboard each of his 2012 Associate Marketing Partners for the 2013 season: Tinsley Drilling and Company, Advanced Product Design (APD), C.A.R.S. Protection Plus, JEGS, Bill Taylor Engineering (BTE), and Mickey Thompson Tires and Wheels. The team is also excited to announce the addition of two new Associate Marketing Partners for 2013: K&N Engineering and Product Development Group.
K&N Engineering is a familiar and trusted name within the high performance industry, having developed the original washable lifetime air filter. K&N manufacturers amyriad of filtration products: air filters, oil filters, fuel filters, and more. In addition, the company offers several products designed specifically for drag racing, like the carbon hoodscoops that Bogacki uses on his vehicles, hood-scoop air filter inserts, and much more.
Product Development Group is the maker of Flo-Fast pumps and AirTek pressure monitoring systems. The Flo-Fastline offers popular hand pumps designed for use on 55 gallon drums and/or 5-15gallon jugs. Flo-Fast also offers complete pumping systems that include pump, jug(s), and handcart for easy remote fluid transfer. AirTek manufactures a unique pressure monitoring system for all forms of racing. Bogacki began using the AirTek gauge in 2012 and has worked with the company to refine and market the product. Luke Bogacki Motorsports is an authorized dealer for both the Flo-Fast and AirTek lines, and will offer products and services at all events that the team attends.
“I’m extremely excited to be working hand in hand with K&N Engineering and the staff at PDG,” expressed Bogacki. “We have a lot to offer these manufacturers in terms of marketing, visibility, and brand acceptance; and their involvement makes it possible for our team to compete at a higher level. I’m confident both will be win-win relationships.”
Bogacki’s season will kick-off in Pomona, and he’ll attend a number of early season events on the west coast.
“My plan is to run the national events in Pomona, Phoenix, and Las Vegas, as well as the divisional races in Phoenix and Vegas and hopefully the Spring Fling West bracket event before brining everything backhome. I want to hit the trail hard early in the year and get a bit of a head start,” Bogacki explained. “My wife is due with our first child in May, so I plan to take a couple months off to enjoy that time, then we’ll pick backup with events in the Midwest and Southeast after Memorial Day.”
