Tony Nelson was the number 1 qualifier in 7.0 but lost in round 2 to
eventual winner Pete Nelson. Nelson, driving the "Dueces Wild"
Chevy II, picked up his second straight win to open the season. In the
finals, Pete used a .033 reaction time and a 7.003 to defeat Josh Mackey's
7.005 that was initiated by a .032 light. The true margin of victory
was .001. Mackey had a bye run in the semis and Pennington survived
a double breakout match with Cole Cousins.
Jeremy Noah defeated Tony Alexander in the 8.0 final.
