NEOPMA Invades Maple Grove This Weekend

Williamson looking to keep points lead
Bret Williamson, driving the Don Carter Motorsports 53 Studebaker, is looking to keep his top spot in the West Coast Outlaw Pro Mod Association point’s standings after Boise. With a pretty big 81-point lead (3 rounds) over number 2 in points, Jay Diedrich, all Bret needs to do is qualify for the 8-car field this weekend in Boise and he will have his spot secured.
Of course the Don Carter Motorsports team is looking to do more than just qualify in Boise, they want to make it 4-for-4 in final round appearances this year running with the WCOPMA as they have had 1 event win and 2 runner-up’s in the first 3 events this season.
The team is up for the challenge going to Boise. With a lot of heavy hitting cars attending this event it will be an all out battle just to qualify. Add on top of that they have not raced at Firebird Raceway before and have no data and this will be the highest elevated track they have raced at this year, which will definitely affect the power their screw blown Miner Brothers hemi engine will make.
The team and crew know they have a great working Alan Pittman swing arm race car and the motor makes the power to run the numbers as they set low ET at the first 2 WCOPMA events with a 5.90 and 6.02. There will be no testing opportunities before qualifying but with there being 3 qualifying passes that will allow them to get a tune up figured out to lay down a number to get into the 8-car show on Sunday.

Biondo Enjoying Another Stellar Season
Maspeth, NY -- Two years ago legendary sportsman competitor Peter Biondo made the conscious decision to scale back his personal racing efforts to a degree, in an attempt to focus on other interests. While one could certainly argue that the five-time NHRA world champion and multiple big dollar bracket winner has nothing to prove behind the wheel, Biondo says that isn’t necessarily the reasoning behind his decreased on track schedule.
“Racing has been very, very good to me and my family,” he said. “But I chased points and big dollar events, and I raced nearly every weekend during the season for nearly two decades. I had a lot of other interests that I put on the back burner for so long I felt like it was time to re-prioritize.”
