In late 2004, Kevin Pruett and his family traveled to Burlington North Carolina to acquire this well designed project from Race Tech Inc. The base car featured a powdercoated chassis, rear end, brakes, and other small components included in stage one of the project.

“We were really impressed with the chassis,” said Pruett during the interview.

After hours of installing components and wiring, Pruett and his father were able to complete stage 2 of the car.

Stage 3 included installing the powerplant which started out as a 540 Cubic Inch Big Block Chevy. To maximize performance, he and his father decided to bore the engine out, making it a 548 cui engine."

Pruett, along with his father, and girlfriend, “Baby Kick,” debuted this awesome ride at the Capital City Classics, Montgomery Motorsports Park. Despite the several complaints made by other racers of the track condition, Pruett managed to dial the car in consistently.

Through a combination of dynamic fuel studies of the Ron’s Flying Toilet System and on-track testing, Pruett and his team were able to tune this Hot Rod, running an amazing 4.73 @ 144mph.

“My plans are to run the Wagon and both dragsters in 2005. We are currently installing Helmet Bars and new hine joints on the UnderCoverChassis Dragster. It was difficult locating someone that could install helmet bars on a chrome cage without doing any damage to the chrome, but we were eventually led to Mitch Perkins who had installed several in the past, said Pruett during the interview.

Pruett, who accomplished his first Trach Championship in 2004, will be rewarded at the Montgomery Motorsports Park Banquet in January. In 2005 he plans to compete in numerous events at Montgomery Motorsports Park, the B&M Series, the Mega Ten, and the Million Dollar Race with this “Spy Cam” project.
